Prize Claim Processing - End of Year 2024
Lottery HQ will pause payment processing on Monday, December 16 for end-of-year accounting purposes and will resume payment processing on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Pay At The District Office
Starting Monday, December 23, all California Lottery District Office locations will temporarily stop processing same day payments for prizes $1,000 and less. All district offices will resume offering the opportunity for a same day check again on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Prizes of $1,000 or less are eligible to be paid by check at our District Offices with a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID. After your lucky ticket is verified and your Claim Form is approved, there is an opportunity to get your check on the spot.*

STEP 1

Prizes of $1 to $599 should be claimed at participating California Lottery retailers. If your prize is $600 to $1,000, continue to Step 2 below.

STEP 2

Download the correct claim form from the Claim a Prize page.

STEP 3

When the form is completed, and the back of the ticket signed, take your claim to any one of our nine District Offices for payment from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

*Same-day check is not guaranteed. All claims must be error-free. Some claims, including but not limited to 2nd Chance prizes, promotional awards, and prizes won on advance plays, may not qualify for same-day payment and will require additional processing at Lottery Headquarters.
