Education Funding Videos

The California Lottery was created by a 1984 Initiative passed by the majority of voters to help supplement public education budgets. As the sole beneficiaries of Lottery funds, California’s public schools to date have received more than $34.2 billion, and while that may not add up to much considering all dollars are divided between more than 1,100 K-12, community college, CSU and UC campuses, and other specialized districts, it is helpful.

These videos depict the different ways some California schools use their supplemental Lottery dollars, while also showcasing the excellence in education, the hard work teachers are performing, and the overall achievements of the student population.
