Would you drive around with $600,000 in your car? We’re going to guess you’d say no, but that’s what one California Lottery player just did. Well, sort of. Perry Sing was driving around for weeks with several Scratchers® in his car and one of those Scratchers, a $1 Set for Life ticket, turned out to be worth $600,000.
Here’s how it happened: Sing was visiting Big Bear when he made a quick stop at a store. “I don’t play the Lottery often,” he said. “I just saw the tickets and decided to buy them.” Sing then put the tickets in his car’s center console and forgot about them. Weeks passed before he found the tickets and started scratching.
“I saw ‘Life’ on the first ticket I scratched off and thought, ‘This can’t be right,’” Sing joked. So, he went to the Lottery’s website to do some research, then into a store to double-check his ticket. Once it was confirmed that he was a winner, Sing tried to play it cool. “I took my ticket and walked out. I just tried to stay calm. Once I got in the car, I got excited.”
